Early Saturday morning, a SpaceX Dragon commercial cargo craft blasted off from Cape Canaveral carrying a specially designed 3d printer to be delivered to the International Space Station. The printer was built for NASA by a company called Made In Space and took more than 4 years to develop. Initially, the plan is to test 3d printing in microgravity and then use those findings to help improve future generations of 3d printing technology both in space and back on Earth.
